With summer just around the corner I was eager to see what River Island had up their sleeves for their newest collection. In true River Island spirit there was lots of colour, beautiful accessories and some great staple pieces. There was a nod to the tribal and Peruvian trend with unique jewlery pieces, leather wooven sandals and detailed beach bags along with hints of oriental and monochrome chic.
The high street store teamed up with Bikini brand Paco to showcase some beautiful swimwear. Some are certainly for the more toned ladies but there was a nice variation to be seen. My favourite was the high waisted turqouise and black graphic print piece. It’s more flattering for a variety of body shapes yet alludes fun and fashion. Just looking at it took me a million miles away to lying on a tropical beach with a cocktail in my hand. Wishful thinking of course, but it certainly has me on my bikini body get fit mode! 🙂
High heels were of course diverse, colourful with rich reds, oranges, canary yellow and royal blues with beautiful embellishments. And for those who prefer more understated footsies, there were neutral colours from blacks with gorgeous gold accents, dark browns and fresh whites.
To add to River Islands collection comes their latest design forum clothing collaboration with the experimental and cutting edge London based designer, Georgia Hardinge. Georgia has dressed celebrity bodies such as Beyonce and Florence Welsh making her an increasingly popular name to the fashion forum. For this collection she has designed 14 pieces that all have a sculptured and 3D style. It’s an unusual and unique collection but with something in it for everyone. All River Island sizes go from UK size 6-18 Lou x
