This week Vichy has launched their new sun protect compact which aims to act like a sun screen providing up to an SPF of 30. It spreads like a fluid, mattifies and gives a finish just like a foundation. Vichy has also ensured that your skin will also be protected from harmful UVB and UVA rays as well as proving suitable for all skin types which is an added bonus!
In general I try avoid wearing makeup in hot climates but it always depends on my schedule especially if its a work trip, in which case makeup is pretty much involved most of the time! I have to say though I was pretty intrigued by Vichys new addition to their range as I have spoken with friends about similar products by different brands and they were not impressed. As soon as Itried and tested this product however I found it very hard to find any faults. It comes in two colours, Sandy Beige ( lightest shade) and Golden Beige (medium to dark shade). I used the Sandy Beige which appeared dark at first but once I blended it with the Vichy makeup sponge, which comes with the compact, it looked very even. When applied it looks exactly like foundation and lasts a really long time. I wouldn’t generally recommend wearing makeup down at the pool but I know a lot of girls who do and I would say this is a good alternative to normal foundation. A normal foundation in the heat can block your pores quite badly leading to spots which no one wants especially on holidays. It is also water resistant but if you decide to go swimming make sure you top up to ensure your face is properly protected. 
I found it really easy to apply and it was extremely light weight to the point that I forgot I was even wearing anything on my face. This I think is always a good sign with a product. I have very dry skin so I was worried my face would feel like a dried out prune but it was the complete opposite, instead my skin actually felt quite hydrated for the day.
