The statement necklace trend is not by any means a breaking news. It’s been developing in popularity since 2008. In the 2013 Spring Summer show, it was highlighted all the more by Gucci, Lanvin and Bottega Veneta, becoming bigger and brighter than in the past. Accessories are the finishing touches to an outfit but when it comes to statement pieces, they in fact make an outfit. It takes a mundane wardrobe staple and transforms it into something intriguing.
