This week I thought I would keep in line with the grunge trend topic following my post from earlier this week. For those that missed it you can find it here. I went for a simple yet structured LBD from H&M, putting most of my concentration on accessories.
The dress is a thick cotton and polyester mix so it makes a great LBD for day or night. The shoulders are quiet structured with embossed detailing which is what really caught my eye when I saw it. The overall shape of the dress is really nice and extremely comfortable. It differs from other bodycon style dresses on the market which like to remind you at breakfast, lunch and dinner that you’re wearing one!haha :). Here, I’m wearing a large. It comes in small, medium and large. I would say large is perfect for anyone size 16 to a size 20 depending on your shape. Medium 12-14, Small, for sizes 6-10.
My favourite accessory from this entire outfit has to be this earring collar from Miss Selfridge, which was a beautiful bargain find for €3/£2. I twisted my hair back on each side to ensure it could be seen properly. I wasn’t sure if this statement earring would suit me but I’m now in love with it. Its definitely an on trend way to add some bling into your life.
I have recently had this new obsession with layered rings. There is just something extremely cool about them that gives your hands a sort of mini transformation. They were an absolute must for my grunge inspired outfit post. The sets I am wearing here are from Topshop and H&M. The bracelets are from a bracelet pack from Primark.
To bring in a second A/W favourite trend of 2013, I chose this bold blue clutch. It’s a great way to add a simple pop of colour to an outfit, and it compliments the look really well.
Tip: As the dress has a high neckline and is a block colour, it can make you look bulky or short. To hinder this, I opted for a long line necklace which helps to balance out the dress. It’s V shaped and falls just past the bustline which gives the illusion of length and a streamlined silhouette. This is also a great tip for petite girls. As requested the shoes from last weeks outfit post got featured again this week. They are from Primark’s limited edition collection, and have definitely been one of my favourite finds from the last few months. I can think of so many things to put them with. You can see them styled differently here with some skinny jeans which I quite like for a laid back look. Lou.x Details:Dress: H&M, €24.99/£19.99 , sizes S,M,L. In these photos I’m wearing a Large.
