Marks and Spencer SS2014 preview

Happy Valentines day girls! For the day that’s in it I had to show you Marks and Spencer Spring Summer because my friends… it was love at first sight! Clean cuts and modern elegance with the collection targeting key trend looks from Pretty In Pinks, Monochromes, Sport Luxe to White Out looks and Colour Box. There was a beautiful variation in layered looks, strong silhouettes to simple elegance.

Pretty pinks came in a broad range of shades from barely there rose colours to candy pinks, fuchsia to bold accessories. This coat is my number one must have. It is such a beautiful fit and a very flattering shade of pink on most skin tones. To add to it, there is a collarless neckline so you can nail two trends in one. The pink shirt gives an oversize but relaxed feel, ideal with light blue skinny jeans or a pair of ripped look boyfriend jeans for a fresh look. If you prefer to add colour to your wardrobe via accessories then be sure to check out this pastel pink pointed toe ankle boots.

The selection of lingerie in M&S never disappoints with such a wide variety to choose from. You have everything from balconette styles to pushs up, Parisian looks, to Rosie Huntington Whiteley’s sultry collection. There are also some more additions to their sports bra selections in on trend sport luxes styles which offer fantastic support for small busts to bigger busts.

When it comes to Monochrome, one thing is for sure I won’t struggle to get my fix for SS 2014. There was a beautiful combination of sports luxe vibes to dresses, mixed with animal prints such as the dress above in a snake skin print. If you prefer to do animal print in a more subtle way, there were a selection of tops which offered some real understated elegance. Their new checker board print dress is an ideal piece to add some monochrome to your wardrobe with both a flattering design and an effortless look that will take you anywhere. The last image in this set is a Tankini top from their swimwear collection, a great staple piece for holidays paired with plain black bottoms would create a highly flattering beach look.

Colour popping primary colours were certainly attention grabbing in all the right ways. As you know I am quite fond of blue at the moment so you can imagine my excitement when I came across this maxi dress with subtle embellishment. It’s labelled as ‘Beachwear’ but realistically you could wear this day or night.

Next you can see a selection coloured jumpers which are a perfect transeasonal staple. As the material is quite light, you can layer them really easily under a biker jacket, or blazer which I really liked.  The floral court shoes fuse comfort with floral elegance. They are available in store at the moment, and I have no doubt we will be seeing a lot of fashion bloggers and fashionistas wearing these at London Fashion Week.

The accessories are fabulous as always, ticking all the right boxes whether you want crisp clean nude tones or bold bright colours of pinks and oranges. The pale pink bag with black checker board detail is a perfect companion for a working girl or even a city break. The final handbag is a perfect way to have a combination of a neutral practical bag with a pop of coral colour to bring some Summer freshness into your wardrobe, you can even get the shoes to match!
