Roger and Gallet are known for their fruity and feminine scents. For me, I find some of their products would be for an older woman as they have stronger undertones in a lot of their fragrances. So when I received this perfume recently to review, I feel in love with instantly due to its lightness. It is something which is certainly for a broader age range and for younger taste buds so I think you will all enjoy this review.
The inspiration for this perfume came from Zanzibar. Roger and Gallet aimed to capture its inspiring beauty and exotic culture into a fragrance. When reading the story behind it you actually value the first scent of the perfume all the more. They have cleverly hit a balance of spices with floral and fruity scents so effortlessly which gives it an everyday perfume feel. The head note was taken from ginger flower which might sound overpowering on paper but I assure you it is not as they have balanced it with orange blossom, cedar wood and a very light musk.
It was quite an easy perfume to review to be honest because I liked it immediately as it’s not over powering. And as you can see from the photos, I am currently using the bottle as part of some bedroom decor as the colourings in the bottle are so pretty. Like all Eau De Toilette perfumes the longevity of it is limited, but in terms of Gingembre Rouge it is certainly up there in quality as higher end fragrances but without the heavy price tag. 🙂
You will find Gingembre Rouge at your local Roger and Gallet counter or Marks and Spencers. Prices start at just £17.50/€21.10 for a 30ml bottle or £39.75/€47.60 for 100ml Lou. x
