This week was somewhat of a whirlwind. On Monday Australian hair brand Aussie held the ‘Aussie Blog Awards’ in collaboration with Her.ie. I was so grateful to have been nominated in two of their categories and I was really looking forward to spending the evening meeting some great bloggers from fashion to beauty who I really admire.
The awards were held in House on Leeson Street in Dublin in a beautiful area and private bar for all who attended. Upon arrival was a lovely selection of canapes not forgetting strawberries and champagne to indulge into for the night. Yum!:) The stunning Vogue McFadden was a busy lady as she was not just the DJ for the evening but was also part of the judging panel. Aussie also had International hair and makeup artist Billy Orr at hand throughout the evening to offer his top hair tips and talk us through some of his favourite Aussie hair products – the miracle recovery leave in conditioner spray is one of my favourites and smelled divine! 🙂

What I wore : As we were blessed with some amazing sunshine I thought I would embrace some summer sorbet colours. This Ted Baker dress happened to catch my eye in Neola boutique in Malahide. The sizing was quite generous – here I am wearing a Ted Baker size 3 which would fit a size 14 – 16. The brand features this dress up to a ‘Ted Size’ 5, which would easily fit up to a U.K size 18/20 because of the stretch in the material. I paired it with my aztec detailed necklace from Primark/Penney’s, white and gold Boohoo.com shoes (styled differently here) and an aztec inspired clutch recently featured here.
Later that evening the awards were announced. There were five categories in total and to my utter shock Style Me Curvy was named “Most ‘Aussome’ Fashion Blog”! 🙂 It was a huge honour to come from Aussie and presented by Her.ie’s editor Michelle Mc Mahon. However, the fact that my heels were so high really didn’t help the fact that I could not stop shaking!haha.
It was such a wonderful night which I am incredibly grateful for. Looking back this all started out as a small idea to make fashion choices a little bit easier for all sizes while promoting a body image and fashion diversity in a gentle way. I am so grateful for those who have gotten behind the blog and taken such a positive interest in it. Style Me Curvy will actually be turning 3 years old in November, so I hope I can continue to improve it in every way I can for everyone. Thank you guys so much.
