Last month I was honoured and delighted to have featured in a 7 page spread and interview for one of Irelands best selling magazines, Stellar Magazine. This shoot differed from any other editorial I’ve ever shot as I had the opportunity to discuss issues close to my heart such as body image, which I know everyone at Stellar HQ are quite passionate about also.
For the shoot itself I was delighted to work with some friendly faces such as top Irish photographer Lili Forberg and the very talented stylist Linda Conway, who was recently named as the new Fashion Editor to the Stellar family. Below I’ve outlined all the details from the shoot itself, a small break down of the makeup items used, followed by hair details and of course fashion picks from all of the looks. 🙂
Make-up
For Makeup, Bobbi Brown makeup artist Jennifer Galvin had all stations covered with a pretty envious makeup kit. To start off she used a beautiful hydrating eye repair cream which is great for dark circles underneath the eye ( I definitely needed it that morning!haha!). To brighten my skin before applying foundation Jennifer used the brands ‘Intensive Skin Supplement‘ which also gives a beautiful effect when paired with foundation. The look for this editorial was set out to be soft and girly, so Jennifer went for a light dewy look. To achieve this she opted for Bobbi Brown’s ‘Skin Foundation‘ which had a nice weightless feel to it. For a soft but natural glow she choose a light bronzer and blusher with pink undertones.
My favourites on the day was certainly the eye cream followed by a cream highlighter which spread so easily from just a small amount. Next to this is a stunning beauty palette with various blusher shades, not all were used of course but it’s something I’d like to add to my list for practicality. To finish off the look she used a ‘Brightening Finishing Powder‘ in the shade of ‘Brightening Nudes’, which is for all skin types but particularly good if you have dry skin. Throughout the shoot various lip colours were used from the ‘Sheer Lip Colour‘ lipstick range.
Hair
For hair looks, each style created gave off an ‘easy to wear and achieve’ every day vibe. Hair stylist Katie Mulville was a total hair guru at restyling a look within minutes. She started out with poker straight hair ( seen below) followed by soft waves, plaits then on to curly ponytails. All of the products she used on set were by a brand called Sebastian. I hadn’t heard of them before but coincidentally two days later while I was on a shoot in Germany the hair stylist was also keen on these products! And I have to say they smell amazing! The Sebastian ‘Shine Shaker’ was especially good after a number of different hair changes to give the hair a fresh natural shine as hairspray can dull down hair fibres after a while.
Styling
The styling was of course by Linda Conway, I had worked with Linda in the past so I was unbelievably excited to see what items she had pulled for the shoot! The theme was florals and when I walked onto the set all I can say is that it was a fashion bloggers dream. The opening shot to this blog post features a playsuit from Ted Baker which was divine – something that killed me taking it off as a fashion lover. Then there were stunning coordinates from Miss Selfridge to Warehouse, and fit and flare dresses from Asos Curve.
This was one of my favourite looks. Mainly because it’s not something I would have chosen for myself normally but when I put it on I was in love! A vintage dress from an incredible Dublin store, Folkster, which also has an excellent online store here. It had inbuilt support around the bust area making is a perfectly safe number to go braless! Yay!
Accessories, as always, is my weakness. There was some stunning statement necklaces and bling to be seen at various price ranges from Primark to Accessorize and Aldo. Shoes ranged from neon bright orange to detailed florals and a multitude of strappy numbers from River Island, Boohoo.com and Zara.
Thats a wrap shoot team selfie!
