Recently I was sent this really unusual trenchcoat from Missguided. I liked the fact that it was sleeveless allowing me experiment with this piece. For today I paired it with my silk Elena Miro dress which has the faintest cap sleeve. I wanted to put together a city look which would show some good transitional pieces from Summer into Autumn and that individually will get you a lot of mileage in terms of achieving different looks.
The trenchcoat surprisingly works with a number of different looks in my wardrobe from skirts to jeans and of course dresses. If you prefer more arm coverage then you can easily pair this with a white shirt, longsleeve t-shirts, or if the weather was to become cooler, a leather jacket which works really well with it too.
My only hesitation is that it is quite long. It looks fantastic with heels but I might look at getting it taken up in the near future for wearing it with flat shoes. Of course if you’re very tall then this item would be ideal for you, I’m 5’9 which I’d consider quite an average height. In terms of size it ranges from a size 6-14 and would be a generous fit. Here I’m wearing a size 14 quite comfortably and I would say it would easily fit sizes 16 to 18. For anyone above this size I’ve left similar recommendations in the details section at the bottom of this post.
When it comes to the dress, I just adore this print as it’s a cross between a floral and a sport luxe vibe which is just so unusual. I bought it in Milan while I was over there launching the Miroglio Della Scalla store for Elena Miro and its certainly a dress I get asked about a lot. Because its silk with a silk lining it’s breathable in the Summer but easy to layer for the Autumn and looks just as good with a pair of tights! 🙂
