September is essentially the fashion worlds New Year with Fashion Weeks from New York, Paris, London and Milan. This season I am so thrilled to see more movement for diversity with upcoming designers such as Becca McCharen of Chromat and Zana Bayne who both embraced the use of plus size models during this seasons NYFW to their full potential as they stood tall among their fellow model colleagues.
Here walks Gia Genevieve for Zana Barnes NYFW show Zana Barnes creations are a regular favourite of Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, known for her bondage inspired pieces. Her overall show resembled numerous medieval inspired pieces where army meets femme fatale inspiration.
Denise Bidot marks the first Latina Plus Size Model to walk at NYFW The Chromat show was creatively brilliant showcasing Becca McCharen’s skillful architectural creations. McCharen, who regularly dresses big names such as Beyonce and Madonna, gave an incredible show utilising a great sense of diversity in fashion with a variation of stunning black, Asian to Latino models. What pushed the diversity scale all the more was her use of three highly sought after Plus Size Models in New York, and I am delighted to say one of whom is my beautiful friend Katy. Together they looked stunning and gave a high impact show.

With such wonderful examples like this, I truly hope that the NYFW designers will influence other both in New York around the globe to follow their lead towards more diversity in fashion. Lou. x
