For today I’ll be showing you the ‘LBD’ of coats. Every wardrobe needs the practical ” I will make you look smart during the day, and oh so chic at night” kind of coat – even if you’re wearing it with your oldest pair of jeans, this kind of coat will work wonders for your wardrobe.
Todays style is fantastic for a range of body types. For apple, pear shape and rectangle shapes this will help to define your waistline thanks to this fit and flared effect. For tall girls this is ideal as the drop back will give you the extra length at the back compared to average coats. For petite girls I would recommend this as more of an evening coat, one which you would mainly wear with heels as the drop back and extra material might make you look smaller than you are. For athletic and diamond frames the wide labels around the neckline will take away from broad shoulders giving a crisp and clean structure to any look. I really liked the fact that it had a side biker zip and a tie belt, so you can decide yourself how you would like the belt to sit. It has slight PU detail around the shoulder area which is then complemented by the PU panels at the base of each sleeve which makes it stand out much more than your average black coat.
I paired this coat with a loose monochrome dress ( halloween inspiration of course!). Usually I would shy away from dresses that are as shapeless as this, but in fact the shoulder area is quite fitted which gives way for everything else to sit just nicely without a ‘bag’ effect. In most items in the Definitions collection I take a size 14, which is what I am wearing here so I wouldn’t recommend going down a size as it might look to small across the shoulder area and under the arms.

For accessories I paired the look with my current favourites – Miss KGcutout boots. They are SO comfortable and give a very neat and instantly dressed up feel to any look over the next few months.
