With 2015 rolling in tomorrow night, New Years Eve one of my favourite times to add some sparkle to my makeup. Today’s post gives an extremely simple way to add shimmer into your life with some new products from Max Factor with their ‘Excess Shimmer‘ eye shadow pots and ‘Excess Intensity‘ eye liner.
Each pot contains a high shimmer pigment. I was hesitant at first as myself and cream based eye shadows have never really gotten along. After an hour I usually find the product has vanished and resided in the creases of my eyelids creating more of a ‘I slept in my makeup look’. While testing out these products I did have a lot of fun layering different shades. Most importantly it looked and stayed throughout the day with a consistency just like a powder base eye shadow, even when I got caught in the rain!
Here using Max Factor shade : 1 Crystal on my inner socket, followed by shade ’20 Copper’ on the upper lid and an emerald green eye liner seen below. ( P.S I was growing my eyebrows here so please excuse the odd shape! ) If I had to pick a favourite I found the crystal shade to be particularly useful as it would also double up as an instant highlighter to brighten up tired eyes for more natural makeup looks too. Excess Intensity is a 12 hour long wear liner which comes in seven different waterproof shades. While more colourful shades like the above can come across as intimidating they are actually very subtle and extremely easy to wear. The green works great with more brown and black tones whilst the blue really helps your eyes to stand out when paired with copper tones. Price: €8.99 / £6.99 Lou. x
