Around this time of the year I love cosy but pretty looks! It’s a tough thing to try get right particularly when it comes to making jumpers (that aren’t Christmas Jumpers) look party acceptable.
The first step to making a jumper look the part is all about the fit. This jumper from M&S is fitted and ever so slightly cropped, meaning it’s a perfect match for pairing with skirts. For today I’ve tucked the jumper into the skirt which instantly gives more of a figure fitted look. As there is not a tonne of material on the bottom part of the jumper it means it won’t give you the look of an extra belly under a skirt.
The skirt itself is quite sixties inspired, which is a trend that’s going to be really big for next season. I found it complemented the top half perfectly with just hints of a black tinsel effect which is broken up by plain polka dots.
If you want to restyle this skirt at a later date simply pair it with a fresh white shirt and a statement necklace.
This necklace is from the Per Una collection at M&S. It’s eye catching and an effective piece to use for a look like this to bring an extra bit of glam to your style.
Petite clutches are a hugely popular festive fashion companion. For today I wanted something that kept in line with the softness of this look, subtilty with a soft velvet finish was ideal.
Photography by Aaron Hurley To finished off your cosy chic look these boots were a must as the patent finish gives another texture to this outfit. The brilliant thing about them is that the soles have Insolia technology which distributes weight away from the balls of your feet, meaning you’ll be able to last longer in them than normal heels or high heeled boots.
