The 1st of December has finally arrived, I’ve been working on a huge number of blog posts for everyone in preparation for this month for my Style Me Curvy Christmas special. 🙂
Tomorrow will be my first outfit post from my segment so stayed tuned as I’m so excited to share it with you all. For all of my blog posts this month I will be using the hashtag #StyleMeCurvyXmas which means you can follow this on social media and alsotweet me any of your party wear or beauty dilemmas!
As todays post has been highly requested I’ve put together my top three lipsticks, including two pocket friendly buys that are ideal for the festive season!
Oh So Christmas
Red is of course a Christmas makeup favourite. This Seventeen Stay Pout shade in ‘Make An Entrance’ is a beautiful cherry red shade, which is very easy to wear. Certain bolder shades of red can make you look quite pale so I found this to be a nice in between fresh shade that would work either day or night. For more definition use a lip liner if you wish. For the price of €2.80/ £2.24 I was extremely impressed with its staying power and when it does fade it looks like a nice lip stain which is just as lovely!

Very Berry
Purple and vampire tones are a true favourite on the catwalks this year. I’ve yet to go to the dark side of the lipstick world so I thought I would just dip my toes instead with this ‘Berry Bradshaw’ shade from Catrice. I find when experimenting with colours this is a super brand as their lipstick prices start at around €4.49/£3.56! While its staying power may not have been as good as Seventeen’s, this didn’t really bother me too much as the shade and lightly glossed texture was beautiful. It’s a perfect introduction to darker tones which would be a great addiction to complete a Christmas party season look for a night out.

The nude basic
This seemingly is one of the most popular lipsticks on the market at the moment due to the Kylie Jenner lip craze. This is from Mac’s Viva Glam collection which has a matte texture to it. The longevity of it is fantastic and even passes coffee and lunch tests! As this is a matte finish, if you want to achieve more of a hydrated look adding a neutral lip gloss shade such asLove Nectar from the Lustreglass range at Mac will do just that. For an even fuller lipped effect combine a lip liner to the equation along with the lipgloss which will give an instant 3D plumped effect. In the photo below is just a prime example of this lipstick when it is first applied.
