From the runway to highstreet, get to know about the latest fashion favourite, the collarless coat. 60’s inspiration has been on the cards since 2014, but this trend is marching on strong into A/W 15 too, which means it gives us a great opportunity to be fashion savvy. For today’s post I picked up this pastel blue lightweight coat from Primark for €30 / £21. It’s a shade which is so flattering on all skin types not forgetting the attention to detail resembling lots of Zara-esque qualities to it.
The fit is quite generous so I would definitely recommend to go down about two sizes. Here I’m wearing a size 12 which sits comfortably both open or closed. I’ve also seen this style in a fuschia pink and a bright yellow in a number of stores if you’re looking for something extra vibrant.
I wanted to show you how effective something like a pop of colour will do to a ‘blacked out’ look. It’s simple, it’s chic and comfortable. I teamed the coat with a basic black top, some ripped skinny jeans and my lace up heels. It’s a very quick and easy look to put together and something that will work on every body type. The trick about working slightly oversized coats is ensuring the rest of your pieces are totally fitted underneath, not loose or baggy to prevent smothering your frame.
