With 60’s chic being a key trend for Spring Summer, I thought it would be a welcomed look for day 3 as I had this beautiful cream Missguided coat with large lapels so I had a perfect excuse to use this.
I have a sensitivity to wool so finding coats that are warm and wool-free that don’t lean towards padded or puffa coats can be tough. I was really surprised how cosy it was so I restyled it for some castings after Fashion Week pairing it with ripped black jeans and a black t-shirt which looked great.
It’s a piece that would be quite generous in size. Here I’m wearing a 14 which would easily fit size 16-18. The fact that the lapels are quite wide means it’s extremely flattering on bigger busts as this coat is not meant to be closed over.
The skirt is from River Island, with a combination of a black trim it gives both that 60’s vibe but something thats ideal for apple shapes or blocky kind of frames as it gives you the instant illusion of a waistline. You can pair it with a number of colours. To keep it streamlined I opted for a cream polo neck. When it came to boots for this look, I had a particular style in mind that I was hoping to find – a suede effect with a relaxed slouched look yet I couldn’t seem to find them anywhere until two days before fashion week when I walked into Primark in Tottenham Court Road. It was love! I kept accessories to a minimum with my Parfois sunglasses I wore practically every day of Fashion Week along with a practical black tote bag which has a subtle pop of cobalt blue thats visible from the inner lining.
