For me, with the brighter weather and prospects of sun I tend to add lots of peachy tones into my makeup bag. I find its a great way to achieve that healthy ‘just back from holiday’ glow. I’ve picked a number of my current favourites for this post and as some of you have emailed me recently looking for beauty bargain finds you will see some beauties in here too!
First up, is the Garnier No Streak Bronzer tan for face which I’ve used for some years now. I have extremely sensitive skin so I tend to be quite picky when choosing a fake tan as I will literally have a breakout within 12 hours. I like using this from now into the Summer just to give my face a natural summer glow that won’t give you an over the top fake tan effect. It means no makeup days are even more appealing nor will it impact your foundation if you were to have a ‘full face’ makeup day! Price range €11/£8 My favourite bronzers since last year have been from NYX’s Blush / Bronzer combo range. It’s wonderful for day to day and especially for traveling. You can have that bronzed goddess look or opt for extremely light effect with a soft pink glow on your cheeks. €9.00 / £6.66 For lips this lipgloss is a complete bargain find which I found had a lot of similarities to one I have from MAC’s lustreglass range. It’s Catrice’s Beautifying Lip Smoother which you can find in most Primarks/ Penneys stores. It has a beautiful soft pink texture to it which is incredibly moisturising. I wear it during the day on its own or at night over a nude lipstick which looks beautiful. You can see more in the photo at the bottom of this page. Shade apricot cream: €3.99 /£2.95
Radiance Boosters:
This next set are my current radiance boosting go-tos! The No 7 Shimmer Palette shows lots of similarities to Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick but at less than half the price €17.50/ £12.50! It gives a very subtle bronzing effect and works brilliantly doubled up as an eyeshadow too.
YSL Full Metal Shadow has a beautiful rose tone gold cream effect. When it comes to cream eyeshadow I usually panic, I’ve tried them in the past and I’m not a huge fan. When you apply this at first theres no other way to describe it other that it feels really wet and water like. And you will honestly think, is this ment to be a lip balm? But actually it dries in incredibly quick and you will instantly see the effect. It’s buildable which I loved about it so you can even add more contouring with thanks to the edged applicator that comes with it. €26/ £19
Texture and one layer of colour
Botanics Radiance Balm* is a nice addition into any makeup bag for those day’s where your skin is in vital need of a glow. You can apply it to your face straight after you moisturise for a delicate touch or for a greater effect I find mixing it in with your foundation gives your skin that extra kick. Its something that you will certainly welcome around that time of the month too! The only thing I didn’t like about it was that a lot of product tends to come out at once, so just be careful when you squeeze the bottle but aside from this it’s a great find!
€8 / £6 from Boots
For powder applications from blushers to bronzers to highlighters, this duo Contouring and Highlighting brush from No 7 is a new found favourite. It was recently sent to me and I’ve found myself using it every day for the past two weeks. While it retails at €18/ £13 it would be up there with the likes of Techniques and Smashbox brushes. It’s ideal for those who don’t want to carry too many brushes in their makeup bag at the same time.
