Draped, floaty styles for many body shapes, can be tough to pull off but when it’s done right it can be extremely sophisticated and give an effortless Summer look. I picked up this tunic top from River Island recently which is essentially a crop top with a beautiful long lined chiffon layer over it. I loved the texture and how incredibly soft it felt against my skin, and at the same time I was quite curious to style it in a flattering way.
With a style like this, adding a belt to give your waist definition would in fact ruin the style and overall structure. Instead, I added a layered gold necklace from Oasis to break up the block colour across the chest. It’s a simple trick that’s great for breaking up a curvy frame.
Pairing it with high waisted shorts will give this look a playsuit finish ( romper if you’re in the US) from a side view or a crisp white dress from the front. It’s ideal for those who may not want to show off too much midriff, but still have that on trend finish. For accessories I kept up my current infatuation with safari inspiration and mixed it with these River Island suede caged heels, an aztec inspired clutch from Parfois, and a pair of tortoise finish sunglassesfrom Oasis.
