Design Collective from Evans

Back in September some of you might remember my London Fashion Week post where Evans launched their Design Collective range. The collection landed on Evans.co.uk last month and I was delighted to be sent one of the pieces to review which was one of my favourites from designer Jamie Wei Huang.

It’s very much utility inspired with parachute straps, a crisp white material and beautiful structure. While box pleats can be hard to pull off at any size, Huang has gone for a diagonal cut in the skirt area making it quite the statement piece as it drapes into a drop hemline. This was a key feature which caught my attention at their LFW show. For tall and curvy girls this would be a great designer ensemble as it would be a perfect length for you.

For today I paired it with my H&M biker jacket, my Dorothy Perkins clutch, some simple black strappy heels and some Ray Bans which gives an easy to achieve day to night look. In terms of size the dress is quite generous. Here I’m wearing a size 14, where I tend to be 14/16 in most Evans pieces so I would definitely go down a size when ordering online.

When it comes to details, I loved the utility pocket detail and the on trend parachute straps. I would have preferred if the straps were adjustable but it’s not a huge issue as the neckline is double layered and certainly created for fuller busts in mind sitting perfectly without the material looking stretched. Without a doubt the quality was really beautiful and channeled full designer elements, something which I’d love to see more of in the plus size fashion world.
