Fit and flare dresses are certainly a favourite style of mine. I love the shape it gives and how it’s effective for a range of body types. In today’s post I’m reviewing this white number from a brand many of you might know of, Closet London, which up until now stocked up to a size 16. As of Friday they have just launched their Closet Curve section with sizes ranging from 16 – 26.
The brand is feminine and lady like, embodying plenty of 50’s style inspiration. I’ve often seen their pieces stocked in the likes of Dorothy Perkins and a number of boutique stores so it is certainly accessible. With any brand who expands into curve ranges, I always like to see whether or not they’ve kept their own brand identity for bigger sizes, so I was pleased to see they did just that.
For this post I chose a crisp white Marilyn Monroe-esquenumber as I’m still holding on to my summer vibes for as long as possible! It works well for fuller busts with a higher wrap effect than your average V plunge styles. The belt is an ideal size as it highlights the waistline just enough, and if blue is not your ‘thing’ then you can easily replace it with a similar style belt which are very easy to come across.
My only criticism is that this particular dress is a bit on the short side, but I am the type to wear slightly longer items so perhaps it’s down to personal choice. Here I’m wearing a size 16, which is definitely true to size and the cap sleeve detail sits perfectly.

With this overall look I feel subtle simplicity is best with this cross over body bag. Add a pop of colour with these cobalt blue shoes for a matchy-matchy effect with the belt or keep it muted with a nude heel.
