Welcome to my first post of Style Me Curvy Christmas!! For the next few weeks you will see tonnes of outfit inspiration to gift ideas both here and on my social media channels. I’ll be using the hashtag #StyleMeCurvyXmas so you can follow it all with ease! 🙂 For the first post I wanted to put together a look that you will get a lot of mileage out of, either worn together like today, or worn separately with other pieces in your wardrobe. As a result, I’ve gone for a complete go-to classic Christmas style that you simply CANNOT go wrong with, a statement coat to the trusty LBD.
During the Summer I came across The Outlet in Banbridge and I’ve been back a number of times since then. They have a huge range of designer stores including LK Bennett which is a massive favourite of mine. I really wanted to showcase more of an outlet style for my first post because while Christmas is an expensive time, you can still get that designer look at a great price if you shop smart.
This LK Bennett coat was instant love at first sight ( I’m obsessed with red!). It’s a collarless wrap style with a tied waist belt meaning it helps to define your waistline while enabling you to adjust it as you please. It’s a stunning power popping shade that really stands out and would be extremely flattering on a variety of skin tones too.
Here I’m wearing a size 16 which is a generous fit so you could even go down a size if you wish. It retails at £445 / €605 but was close to half price in The Outlet at £255 / €360. While something like this is certainly a luxury purchase, a classic cut and shade will last in your wardrobe for years so the cost per wear value I found was definitely worth it.
For an LBD, I picked up this dress with a V neckline which works for a variety of busts, and because the straps are quite wide you can use any bra style of your choice! As waistline is beautifully defined by a jewelled waistband it means you can opt for very simple accessories. What I love the most is the fact that the material then flows into a delicate A-line cut making it a total curve friendly ensemble regardless of your body shape. The original price was £275 /€390 but it was marked down to £50 / €71. Happy days!
Accessories
In terms of accessories, I paired the look with a delicate clutch that emulates the slightest hint of sparkle as I wanted the shoes to do all the talking! These heels are pure party season shoe stoppers which I think would even make Carrie from SATC very proud! They can be paired with a huge range of outfits from jazzing up a pair of skinny black jeans or giving a work look that party twist.
