Recently the lovely team at Navabi fashion got in touch with me to review a piece from their premium collection. For those of you that may not be aware of the company, they essentially house a variety of premium designer brands for plus size fashion in Europe including their own range. The dress I’m wearing today was designed by Christine Shaw who created Navabi’s Autumn / Winter 2015 collection. A woman who believes that ” Fashion can be for all women, that all women can develop an individual sense of style, if they simply have the right tools“. A quote which reaffirmed this blog review quite easily.
The overall style and attitude of what Navabi have created in their A/W15 collection is strong, independent, slightly mysterious and with a twist of inner rebellion. You won’t see doily prints, oversized swamped baggy tops or basic shades which is something so unfortunately common with plus size brands. Rather this is a collection that certainly embraces current trends. I chose this printed wrap dress which seemed to fuse power dressing with a twist of grunge. An unusual but welcomed combination! The sleeves were beautifully fitted which I loved and the use of material would certainly be of the finest polyester around as it was like silk on my skin. It’s double lined so you will find all lumps and bumps will be easily covered, the wrap effect teamed with a print also gives an extremely flattering curve effect with sizes ranging from 16-30 – ( here I’m wearing a size 16).
The perks of choosing a multicoloured print like this means very little accessorizing is needed. A statement bag and a simple pair of court shoes to elongate your legs works as a winning combination. This style and colour combination also lends itself to opt for a smart office look, occasion wear or dressed down with a biker jacket.
