The Dress Code?

I love the party season as it’s so social but a big fear factor for a lot of people is getting the all important dress code wrong. Perhaps it’s a work party and you still have to look somewhat professional or maybe it’s one of those events where the dress code hasn’t been made entirely clear. For today’s look I teamed up with the lovely team at Next to show you a style which will cover both a dressy or slightly laid back vibe ensuring all fashion elements are covered!

This look is simple but effective, however, the key is to getting each part right with attention to detail. These coated jeggings are amazing quality and something which will be so comfortable to wear on a night out. I much prefer this style to typical jeans as there’s something a lot more glamorous about them while instantly giving a dressed up look. They are available in sizes 8 up to a size 26 and even come in long lengths for my tall friends.

The top is a soft ashes of roses shade of pink with an asymmetric cut which instantly gives a polished look. Something like this takes your jeggings into the ‘in between’ dress code forum making it perfectly acceptable for a number of occasions. Also, as this is long lined it’s a great style for apple shapes or those looking to cover a tummy area. You’re highlighting your legs but balancing out your frame with a semi fitted, flowy style.

For added coverage this blazer from Next’s Tailored collection is just divine. The cut and fit is one of the best I’ve tried in such a long time. It differs from classic and standard blazers with thanks to the ruched sleeves which have a three quarter length finish. It would work in your wardrobe with a multitude of things; worn with a sequined party dress or even a more casual look with jeans and a statement t-shirt.

 Accessories

Accessories for this look is where you can really add more glitz to your style. This longline necklace is great against a plain top as it helps to break up a block colour. Tricks like this actually make your torso look longer and is a great trick too if you are fuller busted. I added this beautiful Swarovski inspired bracelet for more of a matchy-matchy look, and finished it with this delicate black box clutch with soft crystal detailing.

For heels, these beauties blend two trends in one, a caged style mixed with a 70’s suede tassel effect. It’s something that adds texture while giving a touch of Olivia Palermo partyfeet!  For full details on this look you can see the credits and the widget below. Lou xx
