This past week I’ve wanted nothing more than snug, cosy clothing. A lot of people seem to feel the same way too judging by all of your Facebook and Snapchat messages about this crazy weather we’re having! With this in mind I wanted to put together a warm but chic look. Something where you could easily sit with your friends at a bar, or go out to dinner without looking like you’re about to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. 🙂
I’ve been on the hunt for a new faux fur gilet for the past two months as the one I bought last year has done it’s time! I definitely found it hard to get a style that fitted correctly because a lot of faux fur gilet styles seem to be cut oddly – either in more of a balloon shape, overly baggy or straight cut meaning it would easily swamp you and make you look a lot bigger. I found this particular one from Noisy May worked perfectly. The back is actually leather so you are getting the full warmth but the effect and style of faux fur just at the front. It means you get the best of both worlds making it really practical to style with different outfits from skirts to jeans and dresses.
When it comes to pairing a gilet with a dress, look to fitted styles that show your curves. This dress is from an Irish store called Dunnes Stores which you can get online also with the size ranging from a 8-20. It has a high neckline which is really warm as well as a three quarter length sleeve. You can pair it with leather look leggings or some nude tights and ankle boots which would still look effective.
