Designers from Ellie Saab, Gucci, Balmain and Jean Pierre Braganza have all embraced the military style with open arms this year. It’s an interesting trend to discuss as it leaves a lot of people second guessing themselves whether to embrace this style or not. I’ve put together a simple look today centering around a military coat for those of you who want to dip your toes in this trend but are in two minds about it.
What I like about military styles is the various Khaki shades which work as a perfect accomplice for transeasonal dressing. It will jazz up any black items in your wardrobe and instantly inject more of a smart look to the most basic clothing as military styles are all about good shapes and structure. I’ve paired today’s look with a sleeveless poloneck ( turtleneck for my U.S friends), a simple black a-line skirt, black tights and heels which creates a smart day to night look. For more ideas of styling a military coat like this I’ve added a list below.
Different ways to wear military jackets and coats:
– Black dress with over the knee black boots
– Ripped blue or black skinny jeans, a plain semi fitted t-shirt and ankle boots
– Black wet look leggings and a long lined top
– Crisp white shirt, dark wash fitted jeans and heels
