Over the past few weeks I’ve been road testing some new beauty products with the end goal – to get rid of tired Winter looking skin. It’s been trial and error along the way but overall these guys have been really wonderful time and time again after each use to give that fresh skin appeal!
The Instant Skin Booster
This Works Light Time Cleanse and Glow* is a new product on the scene. It’s a brightening face wash with instantly noticeable results.yay! It’s slightly yellow in consistently, rich in both Vitamin C and Vitamin E. It spreads easily so you really don’t need to use that much as lathers on the face extremely well. I’ve used this in the mornings particularly if I have a casting and I’m REALLY need of a ‘fresh faced’ look when really I feel the total opposite!! The Dry Skin Saviour
I have hit and miss relationships with oil based products. I tend to keep them away from my face as I’m so sensitive, so for Elizabeth Arden’s All Over Miracle Oil, I mainly used it as a body oil moisturiser and oh my ladies.. it’s amazing! Feet, hands, neck, elbows, those annoying dry patches on the back of your legs, this really gives your skin a beautiful hydrating and lasting glow. You can also use it on your hair (great for brunettes) and of course on your face if oil based products suit you. What’s more is that it didn’t have that heavy oily consistency. It dried in really quickly making it easy to get dressed without feeling like your clothes are completely stuck to you! Price: €36 ( Buy here)
The Cleansing Champion
Next up, Nip & Fab Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Pads. I know some of you will be looking at this thinking “Dragons Blood??What??”. It’s basically the sap from the Croton Lechleri tree which helps to form a protective layer on the skin. Hyaluronic acid is also used to give intense moisture to the skin. The two together really help to plump the skin, reduce redness and helps to keep the face intensely hydrated. You can buy this Nip And Fab product as a set in certain places which comes with a matching facemask or you can buy them separately – easily found in large Boots stores or online.
The cleansing pads were and still are an instant hit for me. You can use them morning and at night. They’re extremely light pads which have Salicylic acid (cleanses pores) and helps to take off any excess dirt or makeup on your skin. It’s particularly great if you’ve just come in from the gym or you really feel your skin needs that refreshed feeling! There are 60 pads in total meaning you’ll get a full months use out of them for €12.95.
The Eye Opener!
While this post is about brightening Winter skin, this mascara is something which will instantly open and lift your eyelashes to give more of a fresh faced look. I’ve always been a fan of Max Factor mascaras and this certainly has not disappointed. With a combination of Winter skin to flu season, eyes can easily get that sleepy looking effect which is why we all need some reliable help sometimes.
While it undoubtedly lengthens and gives a false lash effect, I always measure a mascara based how well it stays put. There’s nothing worse when you’re out and suddenly look in a mirror to discover you look like a panda! This passed the test with flying colours, it was also quite easy to take off too without leaving a hard cement like residue on the lashes. It’s a perfect mascara if you just want your eyes to do all the talking and you opt for little or no foundation look or if you’re going out-out on a Saturday night and want extra impact- this will most definitely do the trick.
