This month I had the pleasure of shooting some street style fashion with Stellar Magazine and celebrity photographer, Lili Forberg. For the shoot I opted for an unconventional approach to denim but something which would be really easy to dress up or down – the denim dress trend.
Denim dressstyles like this work extremely well for a number of body shapes, particularly apple and pencil body types and those looking to define their waistline because the adjustable tie detail helps to give more definition to your body. When it comes to shopping for denim dresses look towards softer denim fabrics. Hard denim fabrics can be difficult to wear especially for fuller busts as the material can pull across the chest area or become uncomfortable in general.
Today’s dress is from River Island which is true to size (today I’m wearing a size 16) and you will find it will work with a number of combinations in your wardrobe from tans and suedes like today, to a mixture of nautical inspiration, contrasting printed accessories, to even simple black. Dark wash denim works as a great canvas to work from for a Spring Summer wardrobe and something which can be extremely versatile depending on what styles we look to. If you prefer more coverage, add a pair of white skinny jeans or leggings which contrasts extremely well against denim. I’ll leave similar options in the widget at the bottom of this post for international readers and you can see a great selection in styles too in this month’s Stellar magazine.
