Tuxedo styles have been a huge A/W catwalk favourite, particularly the tuxedo dress, which began to make its mark since last year. It’s a style that doesn’t always translate well to various body types which is why with this trend in order to make it work for all sizes- it’s all about the right tailoring, fabric and cut. Cheaper materials or bodycon elastane fabrics can hug in the wrong places which I’ve found in other tuxedo dress styles. This particular style is double layered with an asymmetric wrap effect which gives a wonderful chic edge to this look. The sharp lines and blend of black and white bring together a perfect curve friendly ensemble. You can accentuate your waistline if you please with the added tie detailing and for fuller busted ladies you can add a simple black cami top underneath if you prefer more coverage .
As it sits just to the knee it would work really well for tall girls particularly with the overall symmetry of this look. For petite girls look to brands such as New Look and Dorothy Perkins who are doing this style really well at the moment. There’s also more styles and options in the widget at the bottom of this page.
