While last week I featured some Winter essentials favourites, today I wanted to tap into more workwear inspiration as requested by you all. I wanted to show an outfit that is informal, yet still smart, that would of course work on a variety of shapes too. I’ve used flat boots throughout but this look as you can easily add with a heeled boot or a black stiletto depending on your preference.
I picked this particular coat for today as it has a removable faux fur collar giving you this option for a a winter cosy feel or to keep it minimal depending on how you’re feeling that day! The cut is ever so slightly A-line. It gives the impression of more structure than is actually there so you will find this will be extremely comfortable and work for a huge range of body shapes and tummy areas. Grey marl shades again are really timeless for this time of the year and make a great outfit combination when paired with black, crisp whites or even denims.
When it comes to shirts, this can always be a tricky one with a common factor being busts and broad shoulders. I find opting for more chiffon and lighter materials like today’s style means it can be worn loose yet still look exceptionally smart. You can go up a size for your bust but as you have various details here such as the bow and tie around the neckline and the cuff, you won’t look like you’re wearing just any kind of shirt.
Key tip: Pair looser shirts with fitted skinny trousers or jeans to show your legs and shape.
To give this shirt a total different look: Pair it under V-cut black dress also for an ultra chic style.
These fitted trousers I opted for are actually a scuba material from River Island. The ‘Molly’ jeans range from the brand are a really great fit I find embracing more texture like a scuba fabric is a great way to have something that will work for workwear to a night out or even day-to-day comfort. Scuba material I find also hugs curves better than denim fabrics so you won’t find them losing its shape any time soon. I’ve added links at the bottom of the page for all sizes. They also come in petite and tall lengths too or in a more waxed trouser finish.

These over the knee boots that can be worn folded up or down depending on your preference. I featured these on my Snapchat recently and I wanted to test them out before I blogged about them. I am happy to report they are my first over the knee boots that don’t fall down! Hurray!
A simple black and gold detail bag to finish off the look. A perfect size for holding high heels, an ipad, notes and a makeup essentials need throughout a workwear day. It also comes with a longer shoulder strap too.
