This season the utility trend is with out a doubt having it’s moment in the fashion spotlight this year. There are plenty of pieces in the fashion world at the moment that will give you total fashion flashbacks for a lot of us from over the years. I know cameo trousers were most definitely ones for me! As today’s post is one of my most popular trend tacklers I wanted to ensure all fashion avenues were covered from dresses to jackets, trousers to jumpsuits. Below you’ll find something for all tastebuds and a sizes. Lou xxx
The Cameo Trousers:

Cameo trousers are most certainly the forefront of the utility trend this season. It brings back all of my Spice Girl and TLC vibes. It is a style that can be daunting but once you try it, like me, you more than likely will become obsessed! You can embrace full military print or opt for something more paired back like a block colour. You can dress them up with heels as seen in the photo above or most certainly give them a casual feel with trainers and a biker jacket.
Utility Dresses:
Dress: Here sizes 8-18 / Bag: old from Mango / Shoes: sold out
Military prints to more paired back utility styles are style favourites for dress fans this year. So whether you want to embrace the statement prints or something more classic there are plenty of options. With something like the dress about as its a full button dress style – you can in fact restyle this and wear it as more of a open longline jacket paired with trousers and a simple top.
The Jumpsuit:
( Photo firm a collab with River Island last month featuring their plus size line) Jumpsuits are one of my style go-tos. Whether it’s full length or cropped or wide leg finds there are plenty of options in both designer and the high street. For tall friends, look to the likes of Next and Asos who are offering brilliant on trend options in diverse sizes.
Just a touch of utility:

For those who prefer to just dip your toes in utility style, looking to things like jackets, a duster or a sleeveless waistcoat as seen here are brilliant ways to do just that. You can keep it as minimal as you like also. For example here I’ve just paired the look with white jeans and a white top. More ideas below
