Jeans as we all know are one of the most practical wardrobe staples, but in terms of finding the right fit, it’s one of the hardest to get right for so many of us. Every week without fail I get emails to direct messages on social media all with the issue, which is essentially the foundation behind this post. So many people feel like the struggle to find the right jeans is never ending, a feeling so many people share. Hopefully todays post comes in useful as a combination of my own personal favourites along with the most recommended jeans brands from you all too.
The Try On:
I don’t want this post to be a if you are X shape then X jeans are the only ones for you. I think that mindset is quite dated and now in the 2020’s we’re seeing variations of cuts to modern takes of classic jeans styles across tonnes of brands and size options. On one hand it means a fantastic selection of options, particularly for anyone who found themselves in-between sizes or labelled their shape as “awkward” when finding a good fit. On the other it means you have to try on more jeans then you’ve ever tried before to get it right one for you. I’m sorry it’s not a simple answer but if it helps I’m in the same try on category too!:)
River Island Molly Jeans
River Island Molly jeans have been around for a few years now. Think of them as a hybrid between jeggings and traditional skinny jeans. You have the thickness feel of a denim: no VPL and you can get a way with various top length with these too. Ultimately you have that stretch feeling thats supportive so it moved with your body, adapts to various curve frames whilst still holding its shape.
Price wise they usually cost around the €30 mark and they are available in their regular (sizes 8-18) and curve line ( 18-28) online. For my U.S and Australian friends you will be able to find River Island Mollys on Asos too in both their lines.
Good American Good Legs
Good American jeans really made a statement in the jeans world around two years ago. It was set up by Khloe Kardashian and business partner Emma Greade. What they brought to the fashion table was a selection of jeans available for all sizes and they have since expanded in to various other aspects of fashion included body suits etc. Out of their jeans line their “Good legs” jeans options I’ve found consistently incredible. Think of them as a control/shapewear jeans that you can still breath in and you feel great in. This particular cut is high waisted and a skinny jean which hugs your body perfectly.
Pricing: More premium at €150 but definitely something you’ll have in your wardrobe for a very long time. In terms of sizing I take a U.S size 16 which would be closest to a U.K size 18.

Next : Jeggings and Lift & Sculpt jeans
Next have variations of jegging quality from the lighter weight to mid weight and thicker options. Coming into the summer you tend to see their 3/4 length and more cropped options too and for those who really like to have more colour options you will find plenty of colours from reds, greens, pinks, whites, and various blue shades.
Their lift and sculpt jeans are a keen favourite from a lot of Style Me Curvy readers who loves the fit particularly their bootleg and straight leg options.

Spanx
Spanx is a brand that needs no introduction. Their jeans line of course would be specifically looking for something to give a firm “hold in” feel to your lower tummy and legs. They come is a broad size selection in the U.S and in the rest of the world it depends on the stockist and what sizes they choose to offer. For Europe I find the Spanx website & ASOS gives the best size offerings.
